New Edition reunites and collects key to city

Grown-up former teen pop sensations announce new charitable foundation before concert

Columbia Mayor Bob Coble and at-large City Council member Tameika Isaac Devine presented a key to the city Saturday to former teen pop stars New Edition. The group announced plans for a new non-profit foundation. The group performed Saturday at the Koger Center.

Here's what Columbia's local stars thought of the brief meeting:

QUESTION:

What did Bobby Brown say to you?

COBLE:

"They were all very nice and polite and talked about how much they liked Columbia."

QUESTION:

Did you ask about Whitney Houston, Brown's wife?

COBLE:

"I asked no personal questions."
