Forsyth singers set to appear on reality show

Some Forsyth Central High School students will have a few minutes of fame later this month.

Members of Forsyth Central's Chamber Singers found themselves being filmed for a Christmas episode of the TV reality show "Being Bobby Brown" at the home of recording artists Brown and Whitney Houston during an outing last weekend, said Bonita Lynch, press manager for the Bravo network show

Jan Stage, Central's choral music director, said the Chamber Singers make an annual trip to the Country Club of the South neighborhood in Alpharetta to sing Christmas carols each December.

"... This year we were walking around and noticed all these cars parked on the street near (Brown and Houston's) home," Stage said. "A young man came up to us and said we needed to go to Bobby Brown's house because they were filming this show there."

Stage said the group did make their way to the Brown home and rather than singing on the doorstep as usual, they were invited inside the home.

The Forsyth Central singers apparently were well received by Brown and Houston, who insisted several times that they stay and keep singing.

Stage said one of the producers for "Being Bobby Brown" told the group that they will appear on the Dec. 21 episode of the program.

"We may only be on there for two seconds, but it was still a cool experience," Stage said.
