Singer Bobby Brown Back In Court Over Kids: Case Revolves Around Education Fund

BOSTON -- Singer Bobby Brown is back in Massachusetts, but not for entertaining purposes.

The singer, who is married to Whitney Houston, was in court Wednesday morning.

Brown arrived at Norfolk Probate Court in Canton, Mass., to deal with allegations that he failed to fund his children's education.

Last year, Brown spent a night in jail for failing to pay child support. He is reportedly up to date on those payments. But at that time, the judge also ordered Brown to get a life insurance policy and start an education fund for his 12-and 14-year-old children.

In question was whether he had started that education fund. A new agreement was hammered out calling for Brown to make the first payment to the education account by the end of the month.

Brown was jailed for one day last March for failing to pay the $63,500 he owed to Kim Ward of Stoughton, the mother of two of his children. He was released after paying the debt, but was also ordered to start the education fund.

Brown told reporters he was busy with work and recording a new album, and thought someone else was taking care of making payments to the fund.
